Procurement and Expediting

The Procurement and Expediting Group forms an integral part of any project management team. Met-Chem has been responsible for negotiation and award of equipment/material supply contracts and construction contracts up to multimillion dollar size at the lowest cost compatible with project and client requirements. Met-Chem's procurement services also include Expediting and Shop Inspection to ensure that technical specifications and delivery schedules are respected.

Met-Chem maintains all relevant procurement information for each specification/purchase order package in a database from which status reports can be generated. Report formats are tailored to the particular project requirements.

The following represents a brief overview of procurement activities performed by Met-Chem:

• development of bidders list;
• bid document preparation;
• response to bidders questions, development and issue of bulletins;
• bid reception, registration and distribution to involved personnel;
• commercial evaluation and co-ordination of overall technical/commercial evaluation and recommendation for placement of order;
• assistance to negotiate and finalise purchase orders and contracts;
• issuance of purchase orders and of executed contracts;
• systematic expediting;
• co-ordination of shop inspection as needed.
