Estimating

Met-Chem has an excellent track record in accurately estimating project costs. Through its experience in tendering and executing turnkey projects, Met-Chem has developed a high level of expertise in establishing comprehensive chart of accounts and capital cost estimating for a broad range of projects in the heavy industrial sector.

Met-Chem uses an estimating and cost control module developed in-house, for configuring the various cost data. It has been developed by Met-Chem and has been used and proven on a variety of projects both large and small. In developing a project capital cost estimate, the estimating group will:

• review the scope of the project;
• establish a work breakdown structure based on the detailed project content;
• determine pricing for each account based on:
  • obtain vendor quotes;
  • engineer quantities;
  • use Met-Chem's estimate data bank.

The computer applications utilized are spreadsheets and databases.
