Met-Chem's electrical engineering provides extensive capability and experience in conceptual engineering, detailed design and commissioning with a co-ordinated approach to power engineering, process control and industrial communications. Met-Chem has engineered projects in the following fields of electrical engineering:

  • Studies: Load flow, motor starting analysis, fault calculations, relay co-ordination, harmonic analysis, power factor compensation, lighting calculations, grounding grid system, fire protection, lightning protection, emergency power supply, etc.;
  • Substations and overhead lines up to 230 kV;
  • Electrical power distribution for process plants and underground or open pit surface mines;
  • Electrical power distribution for petrochemical plants or hazardous classified areas;
  • Engineering of electrical systems for a variety of applications and equipment such as conveyors, compressors, vacuum pumps, grinding mills, steel mill furnaces, hot and cold rolling equipment, process water systems and water treatment facilities.
