Structural Concrete
Met-Chem has carried out a wide variety of heavy industrial projects in Canada and overseas which have included feasibility studies and environmental impact assessments, detailed design of equipment supports and foundations, structures, roads, bridges, marine structures, docks and associated building and storage facilities. Met-Chem's design philosophy is based on using state-of-the-art computer design techniques in support of sound experience and conventional design. Met-Chem's expertise in structural concrete and foundation engineering includes:
- Heavy equipment foundations using driven and cast-in-site piles, mass foundation, floating foundations;
- Column foundations with vertical loads up to 1,000 tonnes;
- Complicated foundations with integrated design requirements for electrical, piping services and ventilation;
- Slip formed storage silos up to 20m diameter and 50m high.
Innovative techniques have been used on a variety of applications, such as stabilizing vertical piles, supporting a 9,000 HP autogenous mill, and using lateral pre-stressed soil anchors.
